Hunter Stats


 

  • Agility (agi): This is the primary stat for hunters. Agi increases attack power, chance to dodge, armor rating and the chance to score a critical hit.
      - 1 point of agi = 1 attack power (ranged and melee)
      - 40 points of agi = 1% chance to crit (at level 70)
      - 25 points of agi = 1% chance to dodge (at level 70)
  • Stamina (sta): More stamina = more health, allowing you to to stay alive longer and is the favorite stat for any PVP hunter. Although stamina is essential, focusing too much on it will dramatically lower your damage output.
      - 1 point of sta = 10 health
  • Intellect (int): More int = more mana for spells and abilities - especially useful in long boss fights. This stat is primarily for marksmen hunters and in conjunction with the talent “careful aim”, attack power is increased by up to 45% of your total intellect. Hunters have a limited mana pool and thus are vulnerable to mana draining abilities. As a result of this, hunters are often targeted in PVP with such abilities to render us useless.
      - 1 point of int = 15 mana
  • Spirit (spi): Regenerates health while out of combat and mana while not using spells and abilities. This stat is virtually useless unless your mana pool is dry and wish to slay enemies using auto-fire without drinking to regain mana. Agility, stamina and intelligence are the important stats.
  • Strength (str): Virtually useless as hunters are a ranged class and are very limited in close quarter battle.
      - 1 point of str = 1 melee attack power
  • Attack Power: Various armor and weapons have + attack power on them and applies to both melee and ranged attack power. For example; +30 attack power gives 30 melee and 30 ranged attack power.
  • Critical/Hit Rating: Similarly to attack power, various armor and weapons also have + crit and hit on them. + Hit is especially useful in high-end raids as enemies are often a higher level than you, therefore the chance to hit them is decreased.
      - 22.3 Critical rating = 1% chance to crit
      - 15.77 Hit rating = 1% chance to hit
  • Resilience: Reduces the chance that an enemy will score a critical upon you and also reduces the damage inflicted from a critical hit.  It also reduces the damage inflicted by DoTs (damage over time spells). Resilience is strictly a PVP stat for hunters and is essential when battling in the arenas against other players as there is limited space to hide and kite unlike in battlegrounds.
      - 39.5 Resilience = -1% chance that an enemy will score a crit upon you

 

Note: Pets receive benefits from certain stats; an increase in the hunter`s stamina, intellect and armor will also increase these stats of your pet. In addition, attack power increases your pet`s attack power and spell damage.

While leveling a hunter should focus solely on stamina and agility. These stats will maximize your damage and the likelihood of survival. Although dying has no direct impact on your character itself, running back in ghost (or whisp) form wastes time. At level 70, stat focus will change depending if you decide to focus on raiding or PVP and how you spend your talent points.
