Hunter

Hunters are the masters of the wild, capable of bringing down enemies from afar without sustaining damage and possess a wide range of skills and abilities which will highly increase your chance of survival where others will perish. Some of these skills include the ability to track various types of enemies, lay traps to ensnare or deal damage and feign death; deceiving enemies and the unsuspecting player character into believing you have died. Upon completing a level 10 quest, the hunter receives several beast-taming abilities; being able to command a once savage beast as your most loyal companion. A tamed pet of your choice will not only serve as an invaluable asset while questing, but also shred and annoy enemy classes you encounter (especially casters and rogues).

Hunters are great survivalists in World of Warcraft especially in PVE, but are far from weak in terms of dealing out some serious pain. With various skills at your disposal and the right equipment, the hunter is a deadly marksman, rivaling the damage output of other classes and can deal a nice amount of burst damage (damage in a short period of time) on an unsuspecting victim – Great for PVP! On the downside though, hunters are relatively weak in terms of melee combat despite being able to use the most extensive range of weaponry compared to any other class in the game. Whilst in close quarter combat there are a few different ways of escaping the clutches of your opponent, allowing you to either flee or continue the fight; however, close quarter combat is generally not recommended.

All in all, hunters are a formidable opponent not to be underestimated. They are by far the easiest class to level in the game and extremely flexible, allowing you to adapt to almost any situation. In order to bring out the full potential of the hunter, it is crucial to learn the finer aspects of the class which will not only benefit you personally, but the entire party or raid.

Allowable Races: Dwarf, Night Elf, Orc, Tauren, Troll, Blood Elf and Draenei
Standard Bars: Health / Mana
Pet Bars: Health / Focus
Armor: Cloth, Leather, Mail (at level 40 with training)

Strengths Weaknesses
Able to shoot enemies from up to 41 yards away (with talents) – the longest attack range of any class Relatively weak in melee combat possessing few close quarter skills
High single target damage and some multi-target damage ability Unable to wear plate armor or use shields
Can tame and control various beasts from the wild. The beasts themselves can be equipped with a selection of abilities including dash and prowl (stealth) Purchasing arrows requires money and equipping a quiver means one less bag for storing items
Can lay various traps to damage, slow or even freeze an enemy No healing spells except for your pet (unless playing as Draenei, which have a healing over time racial trait).
The easiest class to level with in the game and since the pet should always be tanking, hunters virtually have no downtime. Less downtime = faster leveling. It`s generally quite safe to make a quick dash the fridge mid-fight using auto-fire while your pet tanks Usually quite difficult to join a 2v2 or 3v3 arena team unless the team is formed by friends. It`s common to see hunters in 5v5 but are often targeted first since well placed traps have the potential to turn the tide of a battle.
Great at preventing enemies from fleeing using concussion shot and wing clip Limited to one pet at any given time (can store an extra two in the stables)
Can use the most extensive range of weaponry compared to any class in the game
At level 30 the hunter gains a skill called “feign death” which reduces your threat level to zero causing enemies to ignore you (if it isn`t resisted)
Able to “kite” enemies
